Roman amulet “Fascinum”. Bronze. 1st-3rd centuries AD. c. Elongated phallic Roman amulet with a ring on one side to be worn around the neck as usual. This type of piece, personification of the “divine phallus” in the mythology of Ancient Rome and the god Fascinus, invoked his protection and defended against the evil eye, being omnipresent in Roman culture due to its apotropaic power (they were worn by children to protect them, the military, etc.).

Censer. Bronze. XIX century. Bronze censer with a circular base and cup shape with a lid with elaborate lines and simple openwork elements that is inspired by antique pieces. Oak wood clothes press, Holland, 19th century. Clothes press with locked cabinet at the bottom made of oak wood in Holland. As is normal in these utilitarian elements, it lacks decoration, and was used to smooth clothes. It is not common to preserve this type of objects because they were very frequently discarded once better technical innovations became accessible. Oak wood was chosen for its construction due to its hardness and resistance.

Oak wood clothes press, Holland, 19th century. The press stands on four turned legs (three of them secured with a straight chamfer), with a drawer underneath. Being a purely utilitarian piece of furniture, it hardly has any decorative elements. The oak wood used in its manufacture was chosen for its hardness and resistance, since these presses were used to smooth the clothes as much as possible.

Writing desk. Bronze. XIX century. The four containers that make up the desk are placed on a tray with curved profiles decorated with moldings and scallops on its edges. The sandbox or sandbox, the duster and the inkwell have clear lines and smooth areas, combined with fine moldings resembling a cord; The oval box with a lid topped with a knob shows smooth moldings on its entire exterior surface. Although certain details (particularly the tray) could recall certain Rococo works of the 18th century, the attenuation of its movement, the decoration of the containers, the lines and the lack of prominent decorative elements would be more characteristic of the Neoclassicism of the centuries. XVIII and XIX, as is the inspiration in styles of the past and the combination of several currents in the same piece.

Calamine sculpture. Signed “Aug. Moreau.” Following models by Auguste Moreau, France, 19th century. It is reminiscent of works such as the bronze titled “The Fountain” by Mathurin Moreau, and pieces by Hyppolyte Moreau or Auguste Moreau (France, 1834 – 1917). Auguste began his training as a disciple of his older brother Mathurin. He debuted at the Paris Salon in 1861, where he participated regularly until 1913. He was also a member of the Société des Artistes Français. His themes - genre scenes, pastoral, allegorical - and his style, realistic and full of grace, link him with other members of the Moreau dynasty, known for their small-sized bronze works that were widely reproduced and inspired many other masters, both during the artists' lives and after their deaths.

Brazier box in mahogany wood, 18th century. The box stands on claw-shaped legs with balls, with a circular profile and decorated with mixtilinear skirts in the lower part and nails with plant elements in the upper part. In the central hole is the charcoal container, which has two handles decorated with scallops. Box with metal marquetry. Wood, metal. Possibly French school, 19th century. Has damage. Requires restoration. Rectangular chest with a flat lid that has a dark wood interior decorated on the lid with two metallic lines, and a black exterior with carved decorations (one molding towards the base and another at the top) and metal marquetry applications. This is concentrated in the hole for the lock and in the upper part of the lid (composition of vegetal and architectural elements with polychrome concentrated in the center and in the corners, joined together by lines). Both in the style of decoration and in the tones used, it is reminiscent of Napoleon III pieces from the French school.
