Rectangular table top. “Bird and butterfly”. Marbles and hard stones. A panel decorated with a central motif of a perched bird and a butterfly surrounded by a shield with scrolls and branches, highlighted by a frame with scrolls, scallop shapes in the corners, latticework, small flowers and fruit. Both stylistically and technically, it is inspired by examples made in Italy after the development of hard stone inlay in the 16th century, which spread throughout Europe due to its value.
