WALL CLOCK WITH MUSIC BOX, 19TH CENTURY.

Antiques - Miscellaneous / Clocks
Reference: Z3152

Carved wood wall clock with metal disc music box, 19th century.
Clock divided into two parts: the upper one, flanked by columns on moldings, features a dial with Roman numerals and a chromatic set in silver and gold with engraved details reminiscent of Gothic models; the lower one, flanked by pilasters and with a vegetal motif inspired by baroque works, presents a door that hides the pendulum and the mechanism of the music box. The mixture of decorative styles in the work is characteristic of the furniture of the nineteenth century, at which time the music box would be a technological novelty of great importance."
