Sundial and compass with case. Bronze. SCHRETTEGGER, Johan. Augsburg, Germany, circa 1800. A polygonal bronze sundial, engraved with plant motifs on the front, arranged around a central compass. The reverse is engraved with the artist's name and the place of creation. The sundial is accompanied by a polygonal case with a flap closure and a fabric lining. Johan Schrettegger (1797-1843), son of Andreas Vogler, worked in that German city, creating pieces such as this one.
