Carmelite parapets. Iron. Spain, 19th century. Parapets or fragments of low railings made of iron and decorated with a series of geometric elements surrounding two shields, which feature a crown as a finial and a composition with three stars and a cross above a moment. This heraldry links the present piece to the Order of the Brothers of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel, also known as the Carmelite Order, founded around the 12th century.
