Reliquary pendant with Santa Barbara. Gold-plated silver, enamel. XVII century.
Oval pendant with a silver-gold frame decorated with lines in light relief and a piece on one of the larger sides with "ces" and openwork tornapuntas that would allow it to be hung around the neck. On the one hand, Santa Bárbara de Nicomedia appears, with a palm in his left hand and a two-story tower in the landscape as iconographic attributes; on the other side, the IHS letters intertwined, placed on three nails joined by one of their sides and with a Latin cross ending the second letter of the inscription (it is a monogram of the name of Jesus, frequent in art and also it was adopted as a seal by San Ignacio de Loyola and, therefore, often associated with the Society of Jesus). Weight: 18 gr."
