Reference: ZF0943

Saint's head. Carved and polychrome wood. Spanish school, 17th century. Head made of carved and polychrome wood of a young man, with dark, curly hair and tonsured, who keeps his gaze downcast. It does not have hairpieces, but follows common lines of the Spanish Baroque of the 17th century. Due to its characteristics (hair, curls, tonsure, relatively young and beardless...), it is reminiscent of a very common model in the Andalusian school (and in others) used in sculptures of Saint Anthony of Padua, although it is not possible to specifically identify which one. saint belongs because there are no iconographic elements. The tonsure, however, slightly limits the options to saints belonging to religious orders.
