“Madrid, a jug stand in the San Isidro meadow”. Framed engraving. LIZCANO PURSE, Angel (1846-1929). This engraving was published in 1880 in La Ilustración Española y Americana. Ángel Lizcano was a Spanish painter and illustrator who began his training at the San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid, in addition to making copies of works from both the Prado Museum and his contemporaries (Leonardo Alenza...) and was pensioned in Italy by the Marquis de Bedmar to finish his training there. Later, he traveled extensively in Spain and participated in several National Fine Arts Exhibitions, as well as the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1878. He collaborated in La Ilustración Española and Americana, illustrated books, etc. His work can be seen in numerous private collections and in institutions such as the Prado Museum in Madrid, the San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts, etc.
