“Madrid, a botijo stand on the San Isidro meadow.” Framed engraving. LIZCANO MONEDERO, Ángel (1846-1929). This engraving was published in 1880 in The Spanish and American Illustration. Ángel Lizcano was a Spanish painter and illustrator who began his training at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid, in addition to making copies of works from both the Prado Museum and his contemporaries (Leonardo Alenza...) and was retired in Italy by the Marquis of Bedmar to finish his training there. Later, he traveled a lot through Spain and participated in several National Exhibitions of Fine Arts, as well as the Universal Exhibition in Paris of 1878. He collaborated in The Spanish and American Illustration, illustrated books, etc. His work can be seen in numerous private collections and in institutions such as the Prado Museum in Madrid, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, etc.
