Bed. Bronze. Circa 1900. A bronze bed frame with a gilded headboard, footboard, and side rails. The headboard and footboard, similar to each other, feature casters or wheels on their legs and elaborate decoration on both the vertical sides (fluted forms with balustraded elements decorated with vegetal and architectural motifs) and the finial (a delicate composition of scrolls, leaves, and flowers). These decorative elements show a clear classical influence along with a subtle hint of Art Deco or Modernist styles.
