Fireplace screen. Mahogany, silk, metal. Possibly English, 19th century. A fireplace screen featuring a base with three legs and a balustraded design, and a frame crafted from carved mahogany. The piece includes three rectangular panels upholstered in red silk, which are extendable and retractable to cover or protect more or less of the area from the heat of the fireplace.
