Niche. Carved and polychrome wood. Century XVI. Wall niche with a rectangular front opening topped by a venerated shape finished in gold with two polychrome angel heads in the corners, and a dark polychrome space with classicist elements in gold (candelieri with grotesques, lacework, scrolls, etc.). The base has a polygonal finish on the front, with the edge in a red tone, like the rest of the piece. This type of pedestal was very common in private oratories, both in civil environments (houses, etc.) and in religious environments (convents, chapels, etc.) to place and enhance small-format sculptures. Weight: 850 grams.
