Oval plate in carved white marble. “Children of the courtship of Dionysus.” The three children sit on a meadow. One holds a branch with bunches of grapes and vine leaves; The second puts an arm around his shoulder, and holds a glass; The third joins his hands while looking at his companions. Due to the objects they carry, they can be related to the procession that accompanies the god Dionysus, also known as Bacchus. This type of theme, extracted from classical mythology but without belonging to the main issues, was widely used in Art especially since the 18th century.
