Baroque private altar frontal in carved and polychrome wood, Spain, early 18th century. The work is crowned by a broken pediment in the center, resting on a projecting entablature supported by the lower section, flanked by two columns with helical shafts and composite capitals. The lower section consists of a molding framing a semicircular arch on pilasters and a trompe-l'œil background. This type of frontal was typically used in private chapels to highlight sacred images, and its decorative elements are reminiscent of 18th-century Spain.
