Violet box. Gilded metal and glass. 19th century. A fine vase of the so-called violet type, consisting of a lower body in gilded metal with three legs, a series of decorated mouldings and, as a finishing touch, an orb with roses on which Cupid is seated, and another upper body composed of a simple flower made of opaque glass. The classical influence of the piece responds to the tastes of Neoclassicism.
