“Boy and Rabbit”, after Sir Henry Raeburn RA (1756 - 1823). Colored artist's proof; Recorded. WILSON, Sydney Ernest (b. 1869- ca. 1963). Towards the beginning of the 20th century.
With label on the back (Vicars Brothers Ltd., London). On the front, signature and text in pencil in the lower right corner; and text at the top.
Framed, the image is presented, inspired by the painting by Sir Henry Raeburn RA (1756 - 1823) made around 1814 and kept at the Royal Academy in London (inventory 03/703). The present piece is a work by the English engraver Sydney Ernest Wilson (Isleworth 1869–ca. 1963 Hemel Hempstead), whose signature appears in pencil in the lower right corner of the front, just above the words “selected proof” which would allude to the type of present piece. On the back, and thanks to a label from the London antique dealers Vicars Brothers, you can read more details about this work."
