Pair of andirons. Wrought iron. 18th century. A pair of wrought iron andirons decorated with fine lines and smooth moldings on the vertical rods and volutes on the flat metal serving as legs beneath them. Although these are utilitarian pieces with a similar form dating back to antiquity, these examples show a marked influence of 18th-century Neoclassicism, to which they belong.
