Reference: ZF1157A

Pair of miniatures in medallions, possibly Dukes of Montpensier. Cardboard, metal, glass. Spain, 19th century. Pair of miniatures on cardboard that show the busts of a man and a woman inside medallions, these in turn placed in a frame with two points to hang them, on a textile upholstery matching the present on the miniatures. It is very possible that they are the Dukes of Montpensier: Antonio de Orleans (Neuilly-sur-Seine, 1824-Sanlúcar de Barrameda, 1890) was the youngest son of Louis Philippe I of France, and married María Luisa Fernanda de Borbón (sister of Isabel II) in Madrid in 1846. Their daughter, María de las Mercedes, married Alfonso XII in 1878.
