GLASS CAMEO, PORTRAIT. POSSIBLY SPAIN, 19TH CENTURY.

Decorative Antiques - Miscellaneus
Reference: ZF128405

Cameo or intaglio, portrait. Glass. Possibly Spain, 19th century. Glass cameo depicting a profile bust of a male figure with a curly wig and a ribbon tying a low ponytail. Based on comparisons with other portraits, it is possible that this is Charles IV (Portici, November 11, 1748–Naples, January 19, 1819; King of Spain from 1788 to 1808). Compare it with the painting by Juan Bauzil (Charles IV from Behind, National Heritage, Spain), or the Profile of Charles IV, King of Spain (1748–1819) that appears in the "Collection of Portraits of Their Majesties, Princes and Infantes of Spain, Drawn by Antonio Carnicero, Court Painter and Engraved by Brunetti" (1802 Etching and engraving, intaglio. National Library, Madrid).
