Pair of charro buttons. Silver. Spain, 19th century. The buttons known as "charro" buttons are traditional jewelry pieces from the province of Salamanca, Spain, usually made of silver filigree. Their use in this region has been documented since the 17th century on charro costumes, but they are considered a much older element, with speculation suggesting a possible Mudéjar or even earlier origin. Weight: 24 grams.
