Clock, Boulle style. Marquetry of metal, wood, glass, etc. 20th century. It has faults. Table clock made in the style and appearance of those known as Boulle clocks. André-Charles Boulle (1642-1732) perfected a marquetry technique using tortoiseshell in brass and pewter, creating elaborate designs, usually arabesques, which became known by his name. Employed on numerous pieces of furniture during the reign of Louis XIV, it continued to be used afterward, often with materials that imitated tortoiseshell. Weight: 8.65 kg.
