Poster, Pharmacy and chemical laboratory of Buen Suceso in Jerez de la Frontera. Cardboard. Possibly Spain, around the first half of the 20th century. It shows marks. Interior sign advertising the Buen Suceso pharmacy and chemical laboratory in Jerez de la Frontera, which was opened at number 12 Calle Caballeros by Antonio Soto Flores (1866-1926) after completing his pharmacy studies in Madrid and returning to Jerez. He ran the business until the early 20th century, when he sold it to Manuel Salvago. In the 1920s, the business was managed by Rafael Bonald. Apparently, some of the pharmacy's original decoration can be seen in the Café Central on Calle Remedios.

Photograph and signature. Vaslav Niyinsky (kyiv, 1890-London, 1950), 1914. Vaslav Niyinsky (transliterated Vaslav Fomich Nizhinski) was a Polish-born Russian ballet dancer and choreographer considered one of the most gifted in history, particularly due to his encounter with Sergei Diaghilev, a member of the St. Petersburg elite and an important patron of the arts, who promoted Russian visual and musical art abroad, especially in Paris. During World War I, Nijinsky was placed under house arrest in Hungary because he was a Russian citizen. Diaghilev managed to get Nijinsky out of the country thanks to the intervention of King Alfonso XIII and his Office for Prisoners of War. The signature appears accompanied by a photograph of the type used as calling cards at the time (cabinet photograph), and is dated 1914.

"Poster announcing the Royal Bullfight held on the occasion of the marriage of HM King Alfonso XIII to HRH Princess Victoria Eugenie of Battenberg." Framed lithograph. BENLLIURE, Mariano. Spain, 1906. In the royal box, King Alfonso XIII can be seen greeting the public, accompanied by Queen Victoria Eugenie and several other figures, below the text, which extends to the right. At the bottom, the words "Long Live the Queen" are displayed in ribbons. The design for this poster was created by Mariano Benlliure (1862-1947), who already had experience as a bullfighting poster artist. The lithographic draftsman was Antonio de Ángel Alcoy (circa 1863-1925), and the posters were printed by Litografía Mateu in Madrid.

The Magin Rubio Chocolate and Shortbread Factory was located in a modernist mansion built by Eduardo Sánchez Eznarriaga in the early 20th century to house both the production facilities and the residence of the company's founder, Magín Rubio González. Today, it houses the Astorga Chocolate Museum.

“Sollene transportation of the corpse of Maria Luisa di Borbone (…)”. Framed engraving. Rome, Italy, [Sl : sn, 1819]. Framed engraving titled below the image as “TRASPORTO SOLENNE DEL CADAVERE DI MARIA LUISA DI BORBONE REGINA DELLE SPAGNE E DELLE INDIE / Dalla Basilica Liberiana alla Vaticana il di 10 Jannajo del MDCCCXIX” which also presents the names of those responsible for it. “Gio.Petrini incise” appears on the right (Giovanni Petrini was an Italian engraver who worked in Rome and Paris, prospering between 1810 and 1812) and “Filip. Ferrari inventó, i disegnó” can be seen towards the left (Filippo Ferrari is dated between 1819 and 1897). It represents the funeral procession held on the occasion of the transfer of the body of the deceased Maria Luisa of Parma, wife of Charles IV, in Rome, from the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore to the Basilica of St. Peter, also detailing the Roman confraternities, religious orders and high officials who attended (legend under the image).

Advertising poster, Marín Hermanos, Warehousemen and Exporters of Wines and Cognacs, Jerez de la Frontera. Cardboard. Berlin, first half of the 20th century. Casa Marín Hermanos was founded in 1896 by Vicente and José María, who had previously worked as traveling salesmen for Jerez brands. Records show that they were awarded a Gold Medal at the 1896 Lugo Regional Exhibition. The specialties mentioned on the poster (Amontillado Tres Cortados and Los Dos Hermanos) are listed in R. Mena y Sobrino's "Reseña de Bodegas de Jerez" (Jerez, Litografía Jerezana Vicario, 1900). The poster was printed by Manes & Co. of Berlin, Germany.

It is mentioned in the "Review of Jerez Wineries" by R. Mena y Sobrino (Jerez, Litografía Jerezana Vicario, 1900). This advertisement was produced by Prager & Lojda (Berlin SW), a printing company founded in the 19th century that, during the first half of the 20th century, produced numerous advertising materials for Spanish companies.

Advertising poster, José de Soto. Cardboard, etc. Kunstdruck Friedberg, Berlin. First half of the 20th century. It shows damage. Originating in 1771 (the year Francisco de Soto arrived in Jerez and established himself as a wine grower and warehouseman on Caldereros Street), the José de Soto wineries were officially founded in 1888. In 1821, José de Soto y Entresoto acquired a winery on Benavente Street in Jerez. His descendant, José de Soto Ruiz, created “Ponche Soto” in 1881, beginning the export business in 1888 and receiving numerous awards (Gold Medals and Diplomas of Honor at the International Expositions in London and Brussels in 1892, Bordeaux in 1895, Paris in 1900, Madrid in 1890, 1897 and 1907, and Barcelona in 1915), in addition to being a supplier to the Royal Household from 1919.

Durá, as the text indicates, “Miguel de Morales y Morales, / Grower, Warehouseman and Exporter / of / Wines, Spirits and Cognacs / Specialties: / Abuelo and Solera Ubreva / Jerez de la Frontera), which was also a registered trademark. José Ubreva opened his wineries for export in 1800, and eventually ran the business under his own name, Miguel de Morales y Morales (Arcos, 1826), who married Cayetana Ubreva Bardayo (1840-1920), inheriting these wineries. The company is mentioned in the Review of Wineries of Jerez by R. Mena y Sobrino (Jerez, Litografía Jerezana Vicario, 1900). It is also mentioned in the Statutes of the Guild Association of Wine Producers-Exporters of Jerez de la Frontera Wines (Jerez, Talleres Tipográficos: Plaza del Carmen, 1, 1921). Manuel de Morales is mentioned.

Advertising poster for the Casa Viuda de José María de Morales, highlighting its product with a very brief text (Fine Wines and Cognac / Jerez). José María de Morales, son of Miguel Morales and Cayetana Ubreva, owned a wine cellar and died at the age of 38. His widow took over the business until 1909. There is a record of a photograph entitled “Interior of the extraction and bottling cellar of the Casa Viuda de José María de Morales, Jerez, managed by Mr. Aureliano Valenzuela Pérez,” dated January 6, 1908, which would have appeared in the ABC newspaper.

Advertising poster, José María de Morales, Wine Exporter, Jerez. Cardboard. Berlin, first half of the 20th century. It shows some marks. Miguel Morales y Morales (Arcos 1826) and Cayetana Ubreva Bardayo (1840-1920) were the parents of José María de Morales, who had nine siblings and a wine cellar, primarily used for storage, on Ávila Street in Jerez. He was best known for his brandy called “Uno, Dos y Tres Racimos” (One, Two, and Three Bunches) and died at the age of 38, although his widow continued the business until 1909. There is a record of a photograph entitled “Interior of the extraction and bottling cellar of the widow's house of José María de Morales, Jerez, managed by Mr. Aureliano Valenzuela Pérez,” dated January 6, 1908, which appeared in the newspaper ABC.

Aurora Insurance was a company established on February 13, 1900, promoted by people involved in shipping and mining businesses, with the primary objective of focusing on marine insurance. The poster features the heraldic shield of Bilbao and another that is also seen on the one for Ermua. There is also mention of the printing company responsible for the work, Reclamos Vilaró of Barcelona, known for other Spanish advertisements dating from approximately the 1920s.

Bullfighting poster. Printed paper, framed. Seville, Spain, around the second half of the 19th century (1844). It has faults. Bullfighting poster (note the handwritten note with the month of May) for a bullfight to be held on the afternoon of Monday the 12th "of the current month" in the Seville bullring, now better known as the Maestranza. We know of the preservation of another identical poster in a private collection, dated 1844, thanks to a newspaper article (Diario de Sevilla, Sunday, October 29, 2000, "Romero debuted in La Pañoleta", "The Bullfighting Fair of 1847").
