Comfortable Dutch marquetry. Four legs support the chest of drawers, which has four drawers (these with a key lock and two handles in gold metal) and a top. The three fronts of the cabinet and the top have floral marquetry in light wood on a walnut-coloured background. The colours, the theme and the decorative technique are all characteristic of traditional Dutch furniture.

Kidney-shaped table with drawer. Four legs with a slight cabriolet shape up to the base and straight up to the top support the table. The drawer and the other fronts follow the kidney shape of the piece of furniture, with their fronts decorated with dark wood rectangles highlighted with gold metal cords. The top is worth mentioning: it is framed with walnut root wood with a magnificent grain and a lighter grain with mixed-linear profiles.

Louis XVI style side table. The table stands on four cabriole legs joined by a central chambrane. It has a round top with a waist decorated with wood in different grains and gilded metal, and the top in marble with a metal border. The so-called Louis XVI style in France is one of the most representative of Neoclassicism, dating from around the second half of the 18th century, and its popularity made it one of the most important sources of inspiration for later furniture.

Lemongrass-colored sewing kit. The sewing box, with a hinged lid and a drawer, is situated on cabriole legs joined with an X-shaped chambray. Inside, it has three compartments and a mirror. The fronts are decorated with stylised plant shapes, inspired by the decorations of classic European furniture. The legs follow characteristic Rococo patterns; lemongrass wood was often used for inlay work, whereas in this example its colour is used throughout the surface except for the darker decoration, a colour combination reminiscent of examples such as Boulle-style marquetry. The layout of the spaces inside makes this piece of furniture perfect for interior decoration.

Louis XV style coffee table with marquetry and bronze decoration. The table stands on four cabriole legs secured by a board at the bottom. It has a drawer and decoration based on inlaid panels in light wood with slats drawing diamonds framed by plant motifs in gilt bronze and a mask in the centre of each side. The top board is rectangular with curved profiles on its four sides, a fillet highlighting the stone and four plant motifs in the corners. The style known in France as Louis XV (corresponding to Rococo) was widely used as inspiration for creating furniture after the 18th century.

Queen Anne dresser with mirror. The chest of drawers is supported by four legs and is framed by two columns on either side. It has three identical drawers below and three above (the two central ones joined together in a structure which, when opened, reveals a writing board). The style of furniture known as “Queen Anne” developed in England around the reign of the monarch of the same name (1720s to around 1760), and was characterised by a lack of decorative elements and an emphasis on the lines of the pieces. A number of characteristic elements of this style are still in use today.

Desk with thirteen drawers. The desk stands on stipes-shaped legs with rollers. The drawers are arranged as follows: three at the waist, at the front, with a key lock and the central one larger than the side ones; two on the sides, at the beginning of the semicircular structure that delimits the upper board; six organized in two registers in this curved area, located between two small doors. The decoration gives prominence to the wood, as it consists of thin lines on the fronts of drawers, areas and doors, and very discreet gilded metal fittings.

Empire style table with marble top. Circular table on four legs placed on claws with balls joined by chamfers that converge in a small vase. The supports are shaped like a stipe, decorated on the front with plant garlands, jars and lacework, which are also presented on the waist, flanking medallions with landscapes. The French Empire style (towards the beginning of the 19th century), named after the period of Napoleon's government in France, was characterized by its inspiration in the classical world.
