Bronze and glass centerpiece. Lost wax bronde casting. It is cup-shaped, with the foot made of four bamboo canes joined with a cord and decorated with flowers and leaves, the transparent glass container and the two handles with leaves curved inwards. Although the shape responds to a very old prototype of centerpieces, the prominence of plants and the presence of bamboo brings the work closer to more recent approaches related to Romanticism and the 19th century.

The piece is reminiscent of European works (France, Vienna...) from towards the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th century both in the material chosen and in the theme of the sculpture, its size, its composition, its detail, etc. The inscription on the base (P. Dubois) refers to the sculptor Paul Dubois (France, 1829-1905), whose works would inspire the present sculpture (especially one in particular, very similar to this one).
