Decorative gramophone. Wood, metal, etc. 20th century. A purely decorative gramophone with a flat, dark-finished wooden base, turntable, curved crank, elbow, and horn or shell in a gold finish. It is inspired by 19th-century models, particularly those of the Gramophone Company of England (as evidenced by the advertisement on the front, reminiscent of the well-known "His Master's Voice" ad by the same company, created by Francis Barraud in 1898).
