Pair of porcelain figurines. “Young couple with baskets”. Inspired by models from the Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres (France). The figures' bases feature legs adorned with stylized plant motifs and flowers in relief. These, along with the highly idealized garments of the young figures and the work's subject matter, link it to the major European porcelain factories of the 18th century. However, the immense popularity and quality of these sculptures led to their continued production throughout the following century. The examples presented here share many similarities with pieces from the Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres (France).
