Chest inspired by 17th century models. Silver. Spain, 20th century. Rectangular chest made of silver in its color, with four legs in the corners with a scroll shape and claw finishes, decorated on the fronts with a decoration of moldings, bands and motifs within rectangles (yokes, bundle of arrows, crowned letter f between two pomegranates, letter and crowned between two pomegranates) in clear allusion to the Catholic Monarchs. The stepped lid presents a composition of scrolls, architectural elements and plant motifs on a polished polished background, and a small rectangular “diamond” as the top. Closes with a pin with chain at the front. Compare, for example, with the 17th century silver ark in the museum of the Monastery of Santa María de la Caridad in Tudela, or with the so-called Chest of the Holy Martyrs of the parish of Santa María de Manlleu that is in the Episcopal Museum. from Vic.
