Green glass siphon; Vounatsos. Metal, glass. Paris, France, circa 1920. A siphon with a metal head, silver-finished and engraved with words (Vounatsos Freres on one side; on the other, the place of manufacture, Paris, is among other things), and a green glass body with an acid-etched design. This type of container for water or carbonated beverages was very popular in the mid-20th century, and earlier, coinciding with the popularity of soft drinks.
