Devotional plaque, San Telmo or Sanct'Elmo. Bronze. Spanish school, 19th century. Saint Pedro González became bishop of Palencia, later entering the Order of Preachers. He is known as Saint Elmo and is considered the patron saint of sailors, having been confused with Saint Erasmus of Formia (Sanct'Elmo). In the present case, Saint Pedro González usually appears with the Dominican habit, while Saint Erasmus usually appears dressed as a bishop but with an allusion to his martyrdom in one hand. Weight: 163 grams.
