Centerpiece. Calamine. France, 19th century. A centerpiece made of corrugated iron, slightly raised on legs and featuring two handles on the sides. The elaborate and delicate decoration, based on architectural elements, garlands, plant motifs, and scrolls (all with a classical influence), is arranged in a harmonious geometric composition. The piece draws inspiration from 18th-century Rococo works and 19th-century Neoclassical pieces.
