Pair of candlesticks. Bronze. 19th century. A pair of bronze candlesticks with a hexagonal base that rises gently to a central, vase-like shape, enhanced by several moldings. As is typical, the candlesticks are topped with tubular wicks with outward-curving upper edges. While this type of candlestick was common in many European homes from the 17th century onward, this particular pair features several details that deviate from the more typical designs.
