Elizabethan style chair. Wood, textile. Spain, 19th century. Carved and polychrome wooden chair with cabriole legs and openwork backrest decorated with a symmetrical composition reminiscent of Rococo in some details and Neoclassical in others. The Elizabethan style developed in Spain during the reign of Elizabeth II, continuing until the end of the 19th century. The furniture, which seeks comfort and a certain ostentation (with relatively inexpensive materials and techniques), interprets in its own way the French baroque, rococo and neoclassical styles, with proportions, techniques and details typical of Spain and the 19th century, with a predominance of gilding, polychrome, carvings, etc.
