General Prim at the Battle of Tetuán. Oil on canvas. 19th century, following a model by Francisco Sans Cabot. It requires restoration. Oil on canvas inspired by a painting made in 1865 by the painter Francisco Sans Cabot (Barcelona, 1828-Madrid, 1881) which is kept in the National Art Museum of Catalonia (catalog number 010618-000; according to other sources it is in the Palace of the Captaincy General of Barcelona) and represents General Prim (Juan Prim y Prats, Reus, 1814-Madrid, 1870) followed by Catalan volunteers and the Alba de Tormes battalion, crossing the trenches of the Tetuán camp in 1860, in the context of the War of Africa or First War of Morocco (1859-1860).
