Cornucopia, carved and gilded wood. 19th century. A rectangular mirror with a frame accentuated by a crest that extends along the sides. This crest is formed from scrolls and rocaille motifs, directly inspired by 18th-century examples of this style. The straight lines within the mirror demonstrate that, as was common in the 19th century, elements from past styles were incorporated to create works more in keeping with contemporary tastes.
