George Wright was one of the leading equestrian artists of his time, specializing in hunting, chariots and carriages, horses, racing, and so on. A self-taught artist like the rest of his family, little is known about his life. In 1925, he was employed by Ackermanns (England) and Grand Central Galleries (New York, USA), two major lithographic publishing companies. His work is held in important private collections and institutions such as the Walker Art Gallery (UK), among others.
