Rectangular mirror with a pointed top decorated with a frame that features a band of pearls on the inside and smooth areas highlighted with rectangular elements that have plant motifs on the inside; the wider base features a kneeling lady inside a garland of flowers that extends to the sides of the piece in abundant bouquets. The curved lines and the prominence of the female figure are two details that link the mirror with Modernism.

Roman amulet “Fascinum”. Bronze. 1st-3rd centuries AD. c. Roman phallic amulet with a ring on one side to be worn around the neck as was customary. This type of piece, personification of the “divine phallus” in the mythology of Ancient Rome and the god Fascinus, invoked his protection and defended against evil. eye, being omnipresent in Roman culture due to their apotropaic power (they were worn by children to protect them, by the military, etc.).

Silver table clock consisting of an “L” shaped base decorated with a lady holding up the dial, which has Arabic numerals for the hours and dots for the minutes, and a series of branches emerging from it. The prominence of nature and the feminine, the curves of the figure and its position, etc. are inspired by modernist examples from around 1900.

Dressing table mirror. Mahogany wood, glass. 19th century. Oval mirror with a frame made of smooth mouldings mounted on a frame, all in carved mahogany, composed of turned rods with discs (the horizontal ones) and with balustrade shapes (the two vertical ones), the four with square cubes interrupting their lines. Note the combination of details common in furniture from the 17th and 18th centuries with others from the Neoclassicism of the 19th century. This combination of influences was common in the 19th century, within the framework of Historicism.

“Veilleuse” snail lamp. Snail, bronze, plastic, etc. 20th century. Lamp adapted for electric light with a bronze base (decorated with winged human forms and hoofed legs) and a shell body (the light source is inside the shell). This type of lamp was highly appreciated both for the exotic nature of the shell material and for the decoration that usually finished them off. Damage.

Silver vanity set. Set consisting of three items. The hand mirror and the brush with handle are decorated with fine stylised plant motifs on the handle, related to examples of silverware from the early 20th century onwards. The other brush, rectangular, is decorated on the back with flowers and plant elements that are more reminiscent of neoclassical examples from the 19th century. Total weight: 505 grams.
