Advertising poster, La Estrella café. Cardboard. Spain, circa early 20th century. It has faults. An advertising poster for the well-known coffee brand, La Estrella, features a curious slogan related to its aroma. La Estrella was founded in 1887 in Badajoz by José Gómez Tejedor, who obtained the patent for torrefacto coffee in Spain in 1901. He developed and registered a Cuban trick used by miners: wrapping coffee beans in sugar to preserve them. His technique for fixing the aroma during roasting changed coffee consumption, as previously the aroma could not be preserved and the coffee had to be roasted where it was consumed.

Bronze lamp in the shape of a spiral. Without a shade. A marble base highlights the spiral that forms the body of the lamp, created with bold lines using a bronze rod with a line running down the center of its profile, breaking up that area to add more movement to the piece. “Dancer with Bells”. Bronze cast using the lost-wax method. Standing on a circular base is the figure of a young woman, dressed in a short skirt and adorned with bells, holding a torch aloft and with a tambourine at her waist. These small sculptures, with circus or festive themes and a certain oriental flair, were very common in Europe throughout the 19th century, with French examples being particularly important and used as models across the continent for their quality and originality.

Pair of candlesticks. “Man and woman”. Lost-wax casting. Marble base. These anthropomorphic candlesticks are noteworthy for several details. Both figures are in similar poses and attire, but the young woman's height is emphasized by a classically inspired dolphin on which she rests one foot, while the man adopts a posture characteristic of female figures rather than traditional male figures. Although this work can be linked to the 19th-century French tradition of bronze figures, these details bring the pieces closer to more contemporary artistic approaches.
