Small glazed porcelain figurine. “Young couple on a seesaw”. Inspired by models from the Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres. The seesaw consists of a crossbar resting on a tree stump, and at its upper end, a young woman is seated, supported by a handsome young man lowering the beam on the other side. Her clothing resembles 18th-century peasant attire, but in a highly idealized form. The high quality of the enameling, the magnificent modeling, and the bucolic theme of couples link the piece to Rococo examples from the Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres (France).
