Reference: V2141

Bronze sculpture. “Girl with goat”. Inspired by models by Affortunato Gory (1895-1925). Lost-wax casting. Marble base. The young woman sits with her legs stretched out in front of her, reaching up to grasp the goat's horns, which appear poised to fight. It is based on the work "The Girl and the Goat" by Affortunato Gory, an Italian sculptor trained at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence under Augusto Rivalta, who moved to Paris at the beginning of the 20th century to complete his training with Antoine Basset. His work is characterized by the frequent use of young women, children, and the occasional historical figure, and by the combination of marble with bronze and ivory in some of his pieces.
