A bronze figure on a circular base depicts a humbly dressed child holding a teapot and raising his hand to his mouth as if to shout or hawk his wares or services. The piece is reminiscent of European works (France, Vienna, etc.) from the late 19th or early 20th century, both in the material chosen and in the sculpture's subject matter, size, composition, and level of detail. The inscription on the base (P. Dubois) refers to the sculptor Paul Dubois (France, 1829-1905), whose works inspired this sculpture (especially one in particular, very similar to this one).
