Cupid playing the drum. Biscuit, bronze. 20th century. Biscuit figurine on a gilt bronze base decorated with classical architectural and vegetal motifs, depicting a semi-nude Cupid wearing a tricorn hat and playing a hollow drum. It bears an incised mark on the base. This type of figurine was common in European factories from the 18th century onwards, showing the classical god of love in disguise and in various poses. Weight: 0.373 kg.
