Flamenco stage. Oil on canvas. CABRAL Y BEJARANO, Manuel (1827-1891). Signed. Manuel Cabral Aguado Bejarano (Seville, 1827-1891) was an Andalusian painter known as one of the leading figures of Andalusian costumbrismo, a prominent movement within Spanish Romanticism. He trained with José Domínguez Bécquer, his father, and at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Santa Isabel de Hungría in Seville. He was appointed honorary painter to Queen Isabella II and received honorable mentions at several National Fine Arts Exhibitions. His work is held in the Carmen Thyssen Museum in Málaga, the Museum of Romanticism in Madrid, the Museum of Cádiz, and other institutions.
