Door plaque, Sacred Heart of Jesus. Bronze. Spain, early 19th century. Metal plaque with holes for mounting on a door or similar surface, depicting the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This Catholic devotion, referring to the heart of Jesus Christ as a symbol of divine love, was already widespread in Europe in the 13th century, with figures such as Saint Albert the Great and Saint Lutgard of Tongres, and was later popularized primarily by Carthusians and Jesuits. The apparitions of Fatima in 1917 and the Expiatory Temple of the Sacred Heart in Barcelona (Tibidabo) are examples of this devotion. In Spain, it became common practice from the late 19th century, and especially after 1919 (the consecration of the monument on the Cerro de los Ángeles in Getafe, Madrid, to the Sacred Heart), to place plaques dedicated to the Sacred Heart on doors or entrances. Weight: 169 grams.

It finally closed, after a series of changes, around 1938. The two marks seen here were used together from 1895. Weight: 0.4 kg.
