Desk table. Mahogany wood. 19th century. Rectangular table top decorated with a band of plant motifs on the outer edge, waist enhanced with bands carved with ova and plant motifs of classicist influence and legs decorated with an elegant cabriole shape and carved motifs (scrolls, bows and simple plant themes that extend along the waist of the piece of furniture) finished with very simplified claw shapes holding balls. This finish on the legs also appears in Chippendale examples and in American works and, apparently, was a theme inspired by works from the Far East, replacing the dragon's leg with the sphere with a lion's (thus showing English supremacy) and making it very popular in England during, approximately, the first half of the 18th century, and later recovering it.

Jug from Villafeliche, Aragon, 18th century. Glazed ceramic. Late Baroque style jug made of ceramic and decorated with high-temperature enamels on a white tin slip. These enamelled motifs are combined with mould-made relief decorations. The typology of the piece combines the Italian jug, with an ovoid belly and vertically arched handle, with that of the typically Spanish spouted jug, characterised by the protruding spout that starts from the mouth. The decorations reveal an oriental influence, with large floral bouquets arranged asymmetrically and complex landscapes with architecture and palm trees, in which some figures are removed, these now totally western. The motifs appear brushed in manganese black, and coloured with mainly ochre, blue, green and red enamels. Aragonese pottery from the 17th to the 19th century was characterised by a strong personality, combined with the influences of Talavera and Catalonia. It had three main centres: Teruel, Muel and Villafeliche, the first two with a tradition dating back to the 16th century, and the third created at the end of the 17th century. The pottery from Villafeliche was generally very popular, although pieces of greater quality and complexity, both typological and ornamental, were also made in the 18th century.

The rectangular mirror frame is decorated with scrolls and carved floral and plant motifs in the classical tradition, and rests on two curved legs with lines reminiscent of the characteristic movement of the Baroque and Rococo periods. Brazier box. Carved walnut wood. 19th century. Circular brazier stand made of carved walnut wood with simple legs to raise it slightly from the ground and thus distribute more heat throughout the room in which it is placed. These types of elements were very common in interiors until the invention and expansion of other heating systems. However, it is not common for them to be preserved given their purely utilitarian purpose and their replacement by a more modern one as soon as tastes change or when the previous one deteriorates.

“Northern European landscape with ruins”, 17th century style. Oil on panel. Early 20th century. Rural landscape with a watercourse, a stone bridge and a ruined house, set among trees, enlivened by the presence of a person and with no apparent theme, inspired by Baroque works from Northern Europe. Given their popularity at the time, this type of painting was revived from the 19th century onwards, inspired by important Baroque works from both the Flemish and Dutch schools, having already moved beyond the detail of almost all 16th century landscapes of presenting a historical or biblical subject (which was often downplayed). Between the end of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century, landscape painting gained great popularity in the Netherlands, with masters specialising in the genre proliferating.

Chairs in walnut wood and embossed leather, 19th century. Set of 6 chairs and two matching armchairs, made of walnut wood and with seats and backrests in embossed leather (some leathers require restoration). The structure is based on traditional models of the Spanish armchair, adding decorative details from various artistic styles, such as wavy arms (Rococo) or carved and curved chamfers, or lentil-turned fasteners (Baroque). It was common in the 19th century to make furniture by combining elements from different artistic traditions, using highly successful local models as a base in Spain. Embossed leather on seats and backrests is another characteristic element of the Peninsula, widely used throughout the centuries.
