Bronze, “Two young people caressing each other.” Lost wax casting. On a round base, the two figures stand. The girl holds the boy's head with both hands, and he hugs her with one arm because he is carrying a basket in his left arm. A stump places the scene in an idealized nature. The present work is based on models created by Auguste Moreau (1834-1917), son of Jean-Baptiste Moreau and known for his detailed style as well as his affiliation to Art Nouveau.

The fountain. Polychrome terracotta. 20th century, following models by CARRIER-BELLEUSE, Albert-Ernest (Aisne, 1824-Sèvres, 1887). The figure shows a child, lying down and almost completely naked, with his head highlighted with a crown of gold leaves. He is shown with a shell (with touches of gold), taking water from a jug that he has next to him, thus remembering the allegories of rivers or their birth in Ancient Rome. It is necessary to compare the present work with that entitled “La Source” by Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse, preserved, for example, in the Art Institute of Chicago or that of the Portland Museum of Art (of which there are a series of variants, changing the characters and the material used). Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse was a French sculptor and draftsman trained with David d'Angers and at the Paris School of Fine Arts. He achieved international recognition through his participation in the Salon of French Artists of 1861 (Third Medal), creating outstanding works such as several busts of Napoleon III, the fireplace in the great hall of the Paris Opera, etc. His work is preserved in prominent private collections and in institutions such as the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, the Prado Museum in Madrid, etc.; In addition, we must remember its terracottas and its monuments (such as that of Bernardo O'Higgins in Santiago de Chile). It is also worth highlighting the publication in 1884 of L'application de la figure humaine à la decoration et à l'ornementation industrielles, an important collection of decorative arts of the time, and in 1876 he was appointed art director of the Manufacture. Nationale de Sèvres.

Desk table. Mahogany wood. XIX century. Rectangular table top decorated with a strip of vegetal motifs on the outer edge, waist enhanced with bands carved with ovals and vegetal motifs of classicist influence and legs decorated with an elegant cabriole shape and carved motifs (roles, bows and simple vegetal themes that are extend along the waist of the furniture) topped by very simplified claw shapes holding balls. This finial on the legs also appears in Chippendale examples and in American works and, apparently, was a theme inspired by works from the Far East, replacing the dragon's leg with the sphere with one of a lion (thus showing English supremacy) and making very popular in England during approximately the first half of the 18th century, and recovering later.

Child. Carved and polychrome wood. XVII century. Polychrome wood carving that shows a half-naked child, accompanied by a cloth flapping in the wind that partially covers him, and standing with a marked contrapposto, movement softened by the position of the hands and the expression of the face, with the head tilted . It is possible that it is a sculpture of the Child Jesus, given the resemblance it presents to sculptural groups or painted scenes made up of various characters (more Child with Saint John than Holy Family) from the Baroque.

Bronze sculpture, “Cupid”. Inspired by models by Auguste Louis Mathurin Moreau (1834-1917). Lost wax casting. The figure of the child is identified thanks to its wings and the arch it shows. Cupid appears half-naked, with the quiver at his feet, and a stump behind him. The work is based on models created by a member of the well-known Moureau family: Mathurin exhibited for the first time at the Paris “Salon” in 1848, and it was in 1897 that he received a Medal of Honor. His work, inserted in that appreciated family style, shows a series of particularities that are still maintained in this sculpture.
