Pair of enameled porcelain figurines. “Two children”. The girl is depicted wearing a luxurious dress, seated, barefoot, and holding a basket of flowers. The boy sits on a tree stump. These idealized figures of childhood were highly prized after they began to be produced in porcelain in the 18th century in factories throughout Europe. The two figures shown here were inspired by works from the Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres (France).
