Pax bearer. Bronze. 16th century. A bronze pax with a flat "C" shaped handle on the back, featuring a relief decoration on the front framed by an architectural composition in the classical style typical of the Renaissance. Beneath the side columns are two heraldic shields (without caps, but with cords and tassels on three levels) with a Latin cross in the middle; the center depicts the Nativity of Christ under a shell-shaped dome with winged angel heads at the corners; above, beneath a semicircular arch, is the bust of Saint Dominic of the Causeway, facing forward, with an inscription in capital letters.
