In two volumes, The Disinherited. Misadventures of Life. FERNÁNDEZ Y GONZÁLEZ, Manuel. Manini Brothers, Publishing House, Madrid, 1865 (vol. 1) and 1866 (vol. 2). They present damage. A two-volume novel by Manuel Fernández y González (Seville, 1821-Madrid, 1888), a Spanish writer known and appreciated above all for his serial novels, although he also worked as a theatre critic. Experts attribute to him between one hundred and seventy and two hundred novel titles, around thirty plays, theatre criticism, poems in the style of José Zorrilla and some dramas. CARDING BOARD. WOOD, METAL. 18TH CENTURY.
Carding board. Wood, metal, rope. 18th century. A wooden board reinforced with metal strips, with strings to hold it together and a series of spikes for use in carding wool, of the type used for this purpose before the Industrial Revolution. FOUR LANDSCAPES SET.
Set of four landscapes in oil. Each one shows a different landscape, all with the presence of human figures, animals and buildings and clothing reminiscent of the fashion of northern Europe around the 18th century, or even before. In two of them there are buildings reminiscent of classical times (the bridge with the sculpture and that kind of arch), but as if they had been conceived by someone who had not seen these elements in reality. Candlestick, stipes with a child figure. Calamine. 19th century. Candlestick with a circular base raised on legs with architectural and plant elements, the axis of which is formed by a stem ending in a child figure, which raises its arms to its head to hold the lighter that crowns the piece. WROUGHT IRON DOORKNOCKER. SPANISH SCHOOL, 17TH CENTURY.
Door knocker. Wrought iron. Spanish school, 17th century. Wrought iron door knocker consisting of a screw to fix to the door and ending in a ring, from which hangs another tubular piece with entasis towards the end and band decoration. From one side of this part emerges a simplified snake head, which curves to rest and serve as a handle. Also noteworthy is the engraved decoration it features. Weight: 0.4 kg.ANTIQUES

IRON LOCK WITH KEY. SPAIN, 17th century.
Lock with key. Iron. Spain, 17th century. Keyed locks made of iron in their own color, also featuring a keyhole escutcheon decorated with cut-out fleur-de-lis elements. The keys feature minimal decoration, typical of this type of antique object. The locks have a case from which the door lock protrudes on one side and has a series of holes for securing it to the door. Allegory of Air. Enameled porcelain. Hispania porcelain, Spain, 20th century. Enameled porcelain figure with gold touches showing a half-naked child, with an old-style hot air balloon and bellows, sitting on a base clearly reminiscent of the Rococo era on which the text “El Aire” can be read, alluding to the allegory that the piece represents. This type of work is inspired by outstanding works from European factories. Mortar and pestle. Bronze. Spanish school, 17th century. Bronze mortar with a flared mouth, a raised base towards the outside and a cylindrical body decorated on the outside with reliefs alternating shapes (probably figurative in origin, perhaps angel or Medusa heads) and balustrade shapes derived from the usual ribs, typical of this type of piece within the Spanish school since the Gothic period. The pestle, cylindrical in shape, has a decoration of smooth discs of different diameters and widths, arranged towards the centre and towards the end, and a flat widening at the beginning. Spanish: Reinosa Gate, Aguilar de Campoo. Oil on canvas. Signed, dated and titled in the lower right corner. The painting shows a view of one of the gates of the city of Aguilar de Campoo (Palencia), specifically the one called Reinosa or Burgos Gate. María Reneses, best known for her watercolours, trained at the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid, where she has already won awards. She founded the Spanish Association of Watercolourists (AEDA) and was a member of its Board of Directors. She took part in National Exhibitions, Biennials and various National Competitions organised by the AEPE and other institutions, and was a regular at the Autumn Salons, attending those from 1949, 1952 to 1965, 1967 to 1971, 1973, 1977 to 1981, 1976 and from 1983 to 1989. She won the Third Medal for Watercolour at the Autumn Salon in 1956, First Medal at the 1964 Salon, etc. Her work has been shown in solo exhibitions in Madrid, Barcelona, one at the National Museum in Madison (Wisconsin, United States of America), etc. For more than twenty years, she sponsored a prize named after her at the Autumn Salons, a prize especially designed for young watercolourists.
