In French, the male turkey is known as “dindon”, but note that another bird appears a little further in the background. This engraving is inspired by common works from the 18th century, usually made with the intention of illustrating a scientific book but also dedicating the attention that a work of art deserves (note the details, the background, etc.).

Girl writing on a fence. Lithography. 20th century, following models from BRUNDAGE, Frances. Frances Isabelle (Lockwood) Brundage (United States of America, 1854-1937), was an illustrator highly appreciated for her illustrations of endearing children on postcards, Valentine's cards, calendars, etc., which were published by Raphael Tuck & Sons, Samuel Gabriel Company and Saalfield Publishing, and several children's classics (novels by Louisa May Alcott, Johanna Spyri, the story of Robin Hood, etc.). This work is inspired by a Valentine's card published by Raphael Tuck & Sons, and it was so well received that postcards inspired by it were even published in Spain.

Wreath; Raffaello inv, Volpato Scul. Edit PV 5. Painted etching, framed. 20th century, following ancient work inspired by Rafael Sanzio. Colored and framed engraving that presents a garland with flowers, fruits and bows enhanced by a fine frame of plant elements. Towards the right of the image you can read “Rafaello inv / Edizioni Ponte Vecchio” and “Volpato scul. Edit PV5” (the latter on two stamps). The work is made following some 18th century engravings by Giovanni Volpato (1733-1803) and Raffaelo Sanzio Morghen (1758-1833), edited by Edizioni Ponte Vecchio, in which images of the frescoes by Rafael Sanzio from the Loggia of the Vatican (Rome, Italy).

Floors; Helleboraster maximus, etc. Colored engraving, framed. 20th century, inspired by BESLER, Basilius (1561-1629). Hand-colored and framed engraving showing, in the center, a plant, flanked by two smaller ones. All three present their name, in Latin, below them, highlighting the central one, Helleboraster maximus, called Helleborus foetidus by Linnaeus in 1753, it is a genus of angiosperms of the family Ranunculaceae, and one of its varieties is known as Christmas rose . The plate is inspired by one of the work “Hortus Eustettensis” by Basilius Besler (1561-1629), who was a respectable German doctor, pharmacist, and botanist from Nuremberg.

Church of Santos Juanes, Bilbao. Framed art print. BAYÓN SALADO, Juan; “Bay-Sala” (Logroño 1913 - Bilbao 1995). Signed (lower left area). Urban view showing the Church of Santos Juanes in Bilbao to the right with part of its surroundings and unidentified figures. Known as Juan Bay Sala, he was an artist who began his career in Bilbao, showing his work for the first time in 1941 in this city and, in 1942, in Zaragoza (where he already signed as Bay Sala), Logroño, etc. His national recognition arose from his participation in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts of 1943, and in 1945 he was a founding member of the Vizcaína Artistic Association. He exhibited his work regularly in Paris, and also showed his work in Madrid, Buenos Aires, Tokyo, Barcelona, Miami, etc. His works are in the Museum of Fine Arts in Bilbao and the San Telmo Museum in San Sebastián, among others.
