Urban view showing the Church of Santos Juanes in Bilbao to the right with part of its surroundings and unidentified figures. Known as Juan Bay Sala, he was an artist who began his career in Bilbao, showing his work for the first time in 1941 in this city and, in 1942, in Zaragoza (where he already signed as Bay Sala), Logroño, etc. His national recognition arose from his participation in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts of 1943, and in 1945 he was a founding member of the Vizcaína Artistic Association. He exhibited his work regularly in Paris, and also showed his work in Madrid, Buenos Aires, Tokyo, Barcelona, Miami, etc. His works are in the Museum of Fine Arts in Bilbao and the San Telmo Museum in San Sebastián, among others.
