Carved marble bust. "Roman Emperor".
The idealization of the face of the robed man, extracted from Roman models related to Greek Hellenism, does not allow it to be identified, but it is possible to see similarities with portraits like those of Caracalla (towards the beginning of the 3rd century AD). The set of materials in this sculpture was a technique that spread from Renaissance Italy to the rest of Europe, following models from Antiquity."

Bust in carved marbles. "Roman Emperor".
The face of the man dressed in thoracata armor shows a marked idealization, extracted from Roman models related to Greek Hellenism, which does not allow it to be identified, but it does relate the work to portraits such as those of Marcus Aurelius (121-180 AD) or Comfortable (161-192 AD). The set of materials in this sculpture was a technique that spread from Renaissance Italy to the rest of Europe, following models from Antiquity."

Bust in colored marbles. "Roman Emperor".
A bearded man has been represented in this sculpture, dressed in thoracata armor and a cloak on his shoulder. Due to these details, he can be identified as a Roman Emperor, without being able to clarify which one is due to the marked idealization of his face. However, relationships with portraits such as those of Marcus Aurelius (121-180 AD) or Commodus (161-192 AD) can be appreciated. The set of materials in this sculpture was a technique that spread from Renaissance Italy to the rest of Europe, following models from Antiquity."

Pair of travertine marble feet with carved sphinxes.
Each one of the feet is formed by a sphinx carved in travertine marble. This decorative element, even though it was taken from Egypt, has been treated here as classical antiquity used it, still maintaining some "orientalizing" details such as the scroll of the wings and the shape of the feline's body."

Oval plaque in carved white marble. "Children of the courtship of Dionysus."
The three children sit on a meadow. One holds a branch with grape clusters and grape leaves; the second puts an arm around his shoulder, and holds a glass; the third clasps his hands while looking at his companions. For the objects they carry, they can be related to the procession that accompanies the god Dionysus, also known as Bacchus. This type of theme, extracted from classical mythology but without belonging to the main issues, was widely used in Art since the 18th century especially."

Marble sculpture inspired by the characteristic busts-portraits of the Roman Empire.
It is in the portrait that Rome gives its most characteristic contribution of the tradition founded by the Greeks, a contribution that has matured much earlier than in other types of sculpture and that caused the development of sculpture in Rome to be divided into two fields, with different patterns of evolution, the portrait and the other types. From the time of the Republic the portrait was highly valued and over time it oscillated cyclically between an idealizing classicist tendency and one of great realism, derived in part from the expressiveness typical of Hellenist art. And among the portraits, the bust and the head were the most frequent forms. Full-length portraits were less common, though not rare. The preference for the bust and the head is a typical Roman cultural trait that created a huge market throughout the Mediterranean basin, and is explained first, for economic reasons, being much cheaper than a complete statue, but also by the conviction of a best individual identification that prevailed between them. For the Romans it was the head and not the body nor the costumes or accessories, the attributes of the center of interest in the portrait."

Marble bust "Louis XIV". Veined marble. Twentieth century.
Marble bust of a knight, dressed in armor and wearing a long curly wig. The idealization, his clothing and his posture refer to examples of busts made in the surroundings of the court of Louis XIV (1710-1774) by artists such as Antoine Coysevox, Jean-Antoine Houdon, Warin, etc. Despite the fact that the artist's mastery reflects a certain degree of individuality in the face, it is not possible to identify it due to the lack of elements that allow it, an intentional detail that does not detract from the work."

Wall fountain in carved green marble.
On a base the figure of a griffin has been carved, from which a scroll starts. On top of this the two piles have been placed, carved as if they were seashells. Two fish top the fountain with their bodies intertwined. All the decorative motifs can be related to European Paleo-Christian works (approximately, from the end of the 3rd to the 6th century AD) due to their idealization and schematization, in addition to the motifs chosen for the work and the relationship of the elements of the fountain with Christian representations of those centuries."

Pair of table legs in carved travertine.
Both the same, they have been decorated with fleshy leaves arranged symmetrically, which are reminiscent of tropical examples more than classical-inspired acanthus. The prominence of the natural element of the work is close to aesthetic approaches that appeared in Art from the 19th century. Travertine or travertine marble is a sedimentary rock widely used for interior and exterior decoration since the Roman Empire."
